A fire incident occurred at the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, on Friday morning.
The blaze originated from a faulty circuit breaker on the ground floor but was quickly contained, preventing major damage. Mohammed A. Ahmed, the Director of Press and Public Relations for the Ministry, confirmed the incident, stating, “A minor fire incident occurred at 11:30 am at Block A of the Ministry.” He added, “The incident was as a result of a spark from a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room on the ground floor.”
Mr. Kekai Bekebi, the Station Commander of the Federal Fire Service at the Ministry, reported a prompt response from his team, which effectively handled the situation. Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi, the Director of Human Resource Management, stated, “No loss of document, no injuries, and no casualties were recorded,” praising the staff for their composure during the incident.
After the event, normal activities resumed as maintenance personnel worked to clear debris and restore order in the office.
