Tinubu’s Trip To The Uk Will Allow Him To Reflect On His Policies, And His Return Will Bring Relief To The People – Doyin Okupe

A former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has commented on President Bola Tinubu’s upcoming trip to the United Kingdom, suggesting it will provide him with the necessary space to reflect on the challenges facing Nigerians.

Doyin Okupe stated that the trip would allow the president to evaluate some of his policies and determine the best ways to provide relief to Nigerians upon his return. The presidency announced on October 2 that President Tinubu would embark on the UK trip as part of his annual leave, which is set to last two weeks.

Despite concerns from many Nigerians regarding the president’s vacation amid significant national issues, Okupe attributed these worries to a lack of information. He remarked, “I have read many uninformed criticisms of the president’s holiday trip abroad. Personally, from my understanding of how presidents behave in periods of national crisis, I believe the president has willfully separated himself from officials, friends, and associates to reflect and review the last 17 months and chart a new way forward for his administration.”...Read Full Article [Click Here>]

He further noted that this separation is intended to prevent undue influence from political associates during his reflection on potentially restructuring his cabinet. “Staying anywhere in Nigeria definitely will not afford him such a peaceful and serene atmosphere to achieve his objective,” Okupe added.

He expressed optimism that Tinubu’s return from “this retreat” would signal a brighter future for Nigerians, bringing relief and comfort to the populace.
