Rasmus Hojlujnd made his first start for Manchester United on Thursday against Porto in the Europa League.
The Danish striker scored his team’s second goal in their entertaining 3-3 draw but has received criticism. The former Atalanta striker shared an Instagram post after the game, which put him in a tough spot.
Hojlund ended the 2023/24 season as Man United’s top scorer with 16 goals in debut campaign but missed the start of the 2024/25 due to injury.
The Man United striker is known for his creative and funny captions, but it seems his latest one hasn’t been received well.
He scored his team’s second goal in the first half thanks to Marcus Rashford’s through pass and shared a message on his Instagram.
“Luckily I had 6 weeks to practice my celebration. A win would’ve made it perfect.”
Over 4000 fans commented on the post, and it wasn’t what the young striker was expecting.
The Red Devils are in a difficult spot. They have made a poor start to the season, and coach Erik ten Hag is close to getting fired.
Therefore, the mood among the fans is sombre, especially considering that Man United blew a 2-0 lead against Porto.
