George Moghalu, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially joined the Labour Party (LP) as he gears up for the upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
His transition was marked by a formal ceremony on Tuesday at his ward in Uruagu, Nnewi. Moghalu, who previously served as the APC’s pioneer auditor and was the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), announced his resignation from the APC on August 26, 2024.
He was warmly received by the LP’s ward chairman, Chijioke Okeke, alongside other party officials. During the event, Okeke praised Moghalu, calling him a “patriotic technocrat” and expressing excitement over his joining the party.
