Amaechi Still Strong In Rivers Politics, Supporting Candidates For LGA Polls – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed the political strength of former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, as the leader of the party in Rivers State.

This assertion comes as the APC prepares for the upcoming local government area elections scheduled for October 5.

During a flag-handling ceremony for candidates in 21 local government areas, Chief Emeka Beke, the state party chairman, emphasized Amaechi’s ongoing influence despite his recent silence on political developments.

Beke stated, “Amaechi remains the leader of APC in Rivers State. There is no way you will write the history of politics in the state, especially APC, that you will not write one full book on Amaechi.”

He expressed confidence in the party’s candidates, affirming, “Amaechi is still strong in politics and remains a member of the APC. He is in support of APC fielding candidates for the election.”...Read Full Article [Click Here>]

Beke addressed concerns regarding potential disruptions, pointing to a favorable court ruling that validates the election process.

“Election is going to take place on Saturday,” he insisted, urging security forces to ensure peace during the elections.

He reassured supporters that the APC remains a dominant force in Rivers, highlighting that all candidates had been properly screened and are qualified to participate.
