Former Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, and other prominent Nigerian politicians are attending the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago as special guests of the Washington DC-based National Democratic Institute (NDI).
Osinbajo, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, and former Senate President Ken Nnamani received invitations from the NDI. The Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, was also reportedly invited, but his attendance is uncertain.
NDI, a non-profit, non-partisan organization, promotes democratic values globally. Osinbajo’s presence at the convention highlights his growing international engagement and political profile since leaving office in May 2023.
