BREAKING: Ortom Vows PDP Will Reclaim Power From APC In 2027 Elections

Former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has expressed confidence that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on Tuesday at his Makurdi residence during a courtesy visit from members of the G14, a group comprising PDP elders from 14 Tiv-dominated local government areas, Ortom urged the group to intensify efforts to strengthen the party’s presence in the state.

He called for unity within the party, asking members to move beyond the internal disputes that cost them victory in the 2023 election.

Ortom, who now co-chairs the G14, emphasized that the group remains intact despite recent claims of its dissolution by former Governor Gabriel Suswam, who co-founded the group in 2015. Suswam had announced last week that the G14 had been disbanded, citing its affiliation with Ortom.

In response, G14 Chairman Laha Dzever stated that no one had the authority to dissolve the group....Read Full Article [Click Here>]

During the visit, Ortom reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP and urged the group to rally behind the party’s leadership, both at the state and national levels.

He encouraged them to work hard to bring back former members and strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 elections, expressing optimism that the PDP would regain power with divine support.

The former governor also noted that the ward and local government congresses held earlier in the state had been ratified by the party’s National Working Committee.
