Israeli forces have initiated limited incursions into Lebanon, as the United States confirmed on Monday.
This action follows Israel’s vow to continue its fight against Hezbollah, particularly after the killing of the militant group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in a significant strike on Beirut.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that the battle is far from over, underscoring the gravity of the situation.

World leaders, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, have called for diplomacy and de-escalation, with his spokesman emphasizing, “We do not want any sort of ground invasion.” President Joe Biden also voiced opposition to an Israeli ground operation, stating, “We should have a ceasefire now.”
As clashes intensify, Lebanon’s national army is repositioning troops away from the border, and UN peacekeepers can no longer patrol due to the ongoing violence.
Gallant noted, “We will use all the means that may be required… from the air, from the sea, and on land” to restore calm, adding that while Nasrallah’s killing is significant, “it is not the final one.”
