LG Election: I Don’t Care Who Appointed You, Do The Right Thing – Fubara Warns RSIEC

Rivers State Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed that the local government elections scheduled for October 5 will proceed as planned.

During a visit to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), he urged its staff to uphold integrity in their duties, stating, “I don’t care who nominated you but do the right thing.” His remarks came after an inspection of the 12.5km Trans-Kalabari Road project, emphasizing the importance of fair elections in the state.

Fubara highlighted that RSIEC has received a court order mandating the election, assuring the public that all necessary support will be provided to ensure a successful process.

He said, “Our election will hold on the 5th of October, 2024… we will give them all the necessary support for that election to be conducted. And it will be one of the best elections ever conducted free and fair in this State.”...Read Full Article [Click Here>]

The governor also expressed concern over rumors of potential disruptions, cautioning those involved to reconsider their actions.

He reiterated his commitment to the state’s interests, insisting that “it doesn’t belong to anybody,” and assured that he would personally address any issues at RSIEC.
