Police: There’ll Be No October 1 Protest In Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom Police have announced that there will be no protests on October 1, as they prepare to maintain order in response to planned demonstrations in the state and across Nigeria.

Timfon reassured residents, urging them to go about their daily activities without fear. “As regards the rumoured protest, the truth is that… there is no protest in Akwa Ibom State, and if at all there will be, it’s going to be a peaceful one,” she stated.

She further noted that the police have implemented “tight security” measures to ensure public safety. “People should go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation because we have put in necessary security to ensure that the peace in the state is maintained,” she added.
