A mass burial has been held for the fifteen victims of a deadly attack on Mera village in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State, allegedly perpetrated by the newly emerged jihadist group, Lakurawa.
The tragedy, which occurred in Nigeria’s North-West region, prompted an outpouring of support and solidarity from state officials and traditional leaders. Among the attendees were Kebbi State Deputy Governor Umar Tafida, the state’s Commissioner of Police, and Emir of Argungu, HRH Isma’ila Mera. Tafida extended condolences on behalf of the state government, assuring grieving families that the administration stands with them and is committed to collaborating with security agencies to prevent further violence.
