Nigerian Banker Shot Dead While Resisting Being Kidnapped By Gunmen

A Nigerian banker, identified as Victor Udensi, working at Zenith Bank’s Umuahia branch, was fatally shot by unknown gunmen on Monday, October 28.

Abia State Commissioner of Police,
CP Danladi Isa, confirmed the incident, explaining that Udensi had stopped around 8 p.m. at the Isi Court Axis of Olokoro in Umuahia South after work.

At this location, he was approached by three armed men in a tricycle who attempted to force him into the trunk of his car.

Udensi resisted, and as he tried to escape, the assailants shot him in the back, leaving him critically wounded.

“When they attempted to forcefully take his car key, the driver resisted.
The armed men, however, shot him, killing him instantly,” said Isa.

The attackers later encountered a tricycle driver obstructing their path as they fled towards Ubakala, and they fatally shot him as well.

Condemning the violence, CP Isa assured that the police would work to apprehend the perpetrators.
