A family in Eastleigh, Nairobi, is seeking justice after three family members, a mother and her two daughters, were found murdered in different locations within Nairobi.
The trio, who disappeared on Monday, October 21, were all found dead in Bahati, Parklands, and Machakos respectively with similar injuries. According to family members, the two girls left home on Monday in search of their mother who had yet to return home after a visit to the hospital.
A CCTV footage obtained by Kenyans.co.ke depicted the two girls aged 10 and 22 leaving home donned in their casual hijab dresses before momentarily stopping by the exit of their premises to have a conversation.
One of the girls then proceeded to make a phone call with an uknown person for about two minutes at the apartment’s parking lot.
After minutes of phone conversation, the footage showed the duo heading to a car (believed to be a taxi) that had just arrived outside the premises before boarding it at around 9 pm. It was the last time that the duo was spotted.
While narrating the incident, the trio’s family member noted that the two girls reportedly left home on Monday evening to search for their mother who had left home earlier in the day for skin treatment at a shop within the Eastleigh area but failed to return.
“Our aunt told us that she wanted to go out for a skin check and when he left home, it was around 8 am but she failed to return until 1 pm when her daughters decided to go and search for her. “In the morning, we were informed that a body had been recovered at Parkroads that is when we decided to come and check if it was one of the daughters. They have been killed and their bodies mutilated and thrown in different locations,” the trio’s kin narrated.
Police, who commenced investigations, noted that the victims could have been strangled by the same persons. However, the probe continues to unravel more details about the trio’s death.
In a similar scenario, a family in Ngong, Nairobi, is seeking justice following the brutal murder of their daughter, Christine Nyakio, whose body was found dumped in a swamp in Ngong.
The 24-year-old, who lived alone at an apartment within Kajiado, disappeared on Thursday last week after leaving home for an unknown place. According to the victim’s sister, Nyakio was last captured by neighbours while being ejected by a man from her house.
“Apparently, the kids in the apartment told me that they saw a man attempting to eject her from the house and that was the last time she was seen at the apartment,” noted Nyakio’s sister.
