A Nigerian doctor, Abdullahi Dahiru, has said that the husband of a woman allegedly caught in a compromising position with Jigawa State Commissioner of Special Duties, Auwal Sankara, should have simply divorced her to “protect the honour of his children” instead of involving the Kano Hisbah Board.
“They The case of Jigawa state commissioner arrested by Hisba in Kano in an uncompleted building with a married woman is unfortunate. But personally I believe the husband of the wife shouldn’t have lodged a complaint to Hisbah and should have just divorced the wife to protect the honour of his children. The Hisbah shouldn’t have organized a sting operation to arrest the two secret lovers to preserve the honour of the children of the family. But they were in a haste to arrest adulterers. The long term implications of the love affair going public will be catastrophic to the kids,” the doctor wrote.
Hisbah said that Sankara was arrested at an uncompleted building over an alleged illicit affair with the married woman.
The director general of the board, Abba Sufi, alleged the commissioner’s arrest stemmed from the woman’s brother-in-law’s complaint, accusing him of improper conduct.
Sufi added that prosecution of the commissioner would begin on Monday in a competent court of law. ...Read Full Article [Click Here>]
