Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has revealed that Senator Adams Oshiomhole opposed the appointment of his son, Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole, as the state’s Commissioner for Health.
Idahosa made the statement during an interview with Channels Television on Tuesday, November 20. He explained, “Senator Adams Oshiomhole is a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and his son, like any other individual, has his own destiny.”
He further noted, “Oshiomhole’s son is a well-qualified medical doctor. He studied both in Nigeria and the United States. He has the qualifications needed to serve in the cabinet. Being the son of someone should not disqualify him from holding a position that he is competent to lead.”...Read Full Article [Click Here>]
Idahosa clarified that despite Oshiomhole’s opposition, the decision to appoint Dr. Cyril was made independently by Governor Monday Okpebholo, stressing that the governor was solely responsible for the appointment.
Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole was appointed as Commissioner for Health shortly after Governor Okpebholo’s inauguration.
