Residents of Kobi Street near Wunti Gate in Bauchi were left in shock on Friday morning following the discovery of a lifeless day-old baby in a refuse dump in the area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the baby had been wrapped in two black leather bags and abandoned behind a local shop. A community leader, Musa Jibrin, recounted the heartbreaking discovery to journalists.
“I was informed that a baby girl’s lifeless body was dumped behind Alhaji Babangida Mai Coca-Cola’s shop. When I arrived, I saw the baby tied inside two black leather bags. Police officers from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium and Township Divisions promptly visited the scene and retrieved the body, initiating further investigations into the tragic incident.
