Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai has announced plans to intervene in the situation concerning the arrest and detention of minors involved in the #EndBadGovernance protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
The recent outcry over the treatment of the young protesters, who were reportedly taken back to Kuje Prison due to stringent bail conditions, has prompted El-Rufai to take action.
In a message posted on social media, he called for collaboration with legal professionals and relevant stakeholders to assess how they can provide immediate assistance to these children.

The Federal High Court granted bail to the adult protesters at N10 million each while requiring parents to secure the release of their underage children.
However, many of the minors remain in detention, sparking outrage from civil society organizations and the public. Reports of some of the children collapsing from malnutrition in court have further fueled the outrage on social media.
