So, if you are the type of person who often consumes foods that contain saturated fats or trans fats, you may have to cut down on them. Some of the foods are fatty meats, butters, full-fat milk and cheese.

3. Sugar sweetened drinks such as sodas, sweet teas and lemonade are also linked to a higher risk of type 2 diabetes.
