Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has approved a new minimum wage of N80,000 for workers in the state, effective October 2024.
The governor announced this in a statement on his social media. He said, “I have just approved a minimum wage of N80,000 for Enugu workers, effective October 2024. “We appreciate the hard work and sacrifices of the state’s workforce and will continue to prioritise their welfare in line with our campaign promises.

In August, Governor Mbah inaugurated a committee to implement the new national minimum wage for civil and public servants, which followed the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government’s approval of N70,000 as the new national minimum wage.
