The Kano State Police Command recently arrested 3 suspects named 22 year old Aliyu Adamu, 20 year old Mubarak Abdulsalam and 19 year old Sadiq Sunusi for the murder of a 32 year old businessman named Dahiru Musa.
The incident and the arrest of the suspects were confirmed by the Kano State Police Command PRO, Sp Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa in an official statement released on his Facebook page. He said that on 29th September, 2024, the victim, Dahiru was lured by his employee and friend, named Aliyu to his house under the pretence of discussing some related to landed properties.
When Dahiru got to Aliyu’s house, he was given a poisoned food and after eating the food, he became unconscious. Aliyu and Mubarak then stabbed him to death, put his body in a sack and dumped him in an uncompleted building close to Aliyu’s house.
On the evening of 29th September, 2024, Dahiru’s brother made a report to the police that his brother was missing and that they suspect his friend Aliyu might know where he was because he was the last person to contact him. While Aliyu was in police custody he confessed to killing and dumping the body of Dahiru because he wanted to convert the landed properties of Dahiru to his own because he already had the papers. When Mubarak heard Aliyu was arrested, he immediately went and burnt the body of Dahiru with the help of Sadiq.
After police interrogation, Aliyu led police to Mubarak, who then led the police to Sadiq. The remains of Dahiru was later found by the police and taken to a mortuary for autopsy. The 3 suspect are still in police custody and waiting to be charged to court.
