Sim Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, has raised concerns about plans to mobilize 20 individuals per unit to attack the newly sworn-in local government chairmen. He urged the chairmen to remain peace-loving and strategic in their responses.
Fubara made these remarks during the swearing-in ceremony for the elected chairmen at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Sunday evening.
Among those sworn in, 22 chairmen represent the Action Peoples Party, while one was elected on the platform of the Action Alliance.

“If they come with violence, avoid them. The peace of this state is too important to us. Everyone knows what they are planning, but I urge you to follow my approach.
“At the right time, you will always win if you are patient and calculative. We have made our promises to our people, and we are committed to leading them to the Promised Land.”
