In a shocking revelation, Chief Tony Okocha, chairman of the Rivers All Progressives Congress (APC), admitted to his involvement in rigging local council elections during former Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s administration.

Speaking during a recent interview on Channels TV, Okocha, who served as Amaechi’s Chief of Staff from 2007 to 2015, claimed he should be viewed as a “whistleblower” for disclosing his actions.

Okocha defended his position, arguing against retroactive punishment for past crimes, saying, “No. If you were an armed robber yesterday…the law will now take a retroactive effect? The answer is No.”

Okocha also implicated reinstated Rivers APC chairman, Chief Emeka Beke, asserting, “Yes, all of us were together including Emeka Beke.” Beke, present during the interview, vehemently denied the allegations, insisting, “I did not follow you to the election. You rigged the election and we are going to ask the police to arrest you.”
