General Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Chief of Defense Staff, has addressed the case of Private Ruth Ogunleye, who was dismissed after making allegations of sexual harassment against Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem.
While Musa acknowledged the possibility of a review regarding Ogunleye’s dismissal, he expressed firm belief that the review would yield the same findings.
“Review—of course—it’s possible to have a review. I’m sure it will not come out any different. That I can guarantee you,” he stated in an interview with ARISE NEWS.

Ogunleye has contested the investigation’s integrity, claiming she was never allowed to present her case before any panel. Musa emphasized the military’s commitment to addressing mental health issues, stating, “we fight for our men,” while also noting limitations in their ability to assist.
He reiterated that Ogunleye’s struggles were longstanding and that attempts to help her were met with hostility. “This same lady you are talking about did not start this year.
It has been ongoing for a very long time,” he added. Musa concluded that the military enforces discipline, underscoring that “you do well, you’re rewarded; you do badly, you get punished.”
