On Tuesday, thugs seized control of the protest grounds at Port Harcourt Pleasure Park, previously used for the August #EndBadGovernance demonstration in Rivers State.
One protest organizer noted in a WhatsApp chat, “We were aware of the development and changed plans,” redirecting to the Rumuokwuta flyover, only to find another group of thugs gathered there.

Meanwhile, similar protests continue in cities like Lagos and Abuja, coinciding with Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.
The demonstrators are urging President Bola Tinubu’s administration to reverse the petrol subsidy removal and forex unification, policies they argue are driving inflation and worsening living conditions across the country.
