Edo Govt Writes IGP Egbetokun, Alleges Plot By Shaibu To Invade Govt House

The Edo State Government has alerted authorities to a purported plan by former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu to forcibly invade the State Government House on September 30, seeking to enforce a court ruling for his reinstatement. This revelation comes even as a stay of execution appeal is pending against Justice J. K. Omotosho’s decision reinstating him.

Governor Godwin Obaseki’s Special Adviser on media projects, Crusoe Osagie, issued a statement calling on the Inspector-General of Police to intervene. He urged, “We want to draw the attention of the Inspector General of Police to the intelligence we have gathered regarding a planned move by the erstwhile Deputy Governor… to forcefully enter the Edo State Government House.”
