Soldiers Rescue Five Kidnapped Residents in Kaduna, Gun Down Two Bandits

In a successful operation, soldiers have shot dead two bandits and rescued five residents kidnapped from Kurutu village in Kachia LGA, Kaduna State. A community leader revealed that the victims were abducted from their farms last week when armed bandits wielding AK-47 rifles invaded the area.

The rescue operation occurred on Monday, with troops, accompanied by local hunters, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle. The community leader reported that the bandits fled, abandoning their captives after being overpowered.

A security source, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the bandits retreated following heavy gunfire from the troops and that some were seen fleeing with bullet injuries.

The suspects were on a motorcycle carrying food, drugs, cough syrups, and wine intended for the bandits’ camp.

As of the report, the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, had not yet confirmed the incident. This operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat banditry in the region.
