The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has announced the death of Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi, father of Senator Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi, the Minister of State in the Ministry.
Alhaji Abdullahi passed away on Monday night at the age of 100, and his funeral prayers and interment were held on Tuesday at Gbemusu Palace in New Bussa, Niger State.

Born in 1924, the late Alhaji Abdullahi Sabi had a distinguished career as a Works Superintendent and Supervisory Councillor for Borgu Local Government Area. He was also the pioneer Chairman of the Jamaatul Izalatul Bidia Wa Ikamatul Sunnah in Borgu Kingdom, contributing to the spiritual and social development of the region.
Senator Abdullahi fondly recalled his father’s unwavering dedication to the Borgu Kingdom and his strong support for the late Emir of Borgu, Senator Haliru Dantoro Kitoro III, noting, “He was the last man standing in his support for the late Emir.”
Alhaji Abdullahi is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous relatives, leaving behind a rich legacy that has deeply influenced the Borgu community.
